Notes: Played wide receiver and punted, in addition to lettering three times in basketball and track as a South Dakota prep. As a freshman in 2008, booted 52 times for a 38.4-yard average with a long of 57 and 14 dropped inside the 20-yard line. Totaled 48-43.6-L63-9 in ’09. Had a spectacular junior season in ’10, leading the conference and setting the school record in punting average — tallied 52-45.98-L71-22. In ’11, boomed 78-43.6-L65-25. Owns the school record for best career punting average (43.0 yards per punt).
Positives:Strong leg — can loft punts 50-plus yards. Catches easily and can adjust to bad snaps. Did not have any punts blocked. Four-year starter.
Negatives:Inconsistent — does not always strike it true. Needs to improve get-off times. Did not punt in many big games or adverse weather situations.
Summary:Well-respected, hardworking, right-legged, three-step punter with raw leg talent, but has to shore up consistency and quickness.
