Name is pronounced “kah-knee-eh-luh to-E-poo-low-to.” Was twice an all-state defensive lineman as a Hawaii prep. Began his college career at Arizona in 2007, seeing action in seven games and making one tackle. Started 7-of-11 games in which he played at nose tackle in ’08, logging 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and zero sacks with one batted pass and one forced fumble. Missed two games with turf toe. Had two shoulder surgeries and a partially torn triceps while at Arizona. Wore uniform No. 99. Was planning on sitting out the ’09 season after shoulder surgery and transferred back home to Hawaii where he recovered and satisfied the NCAA transfer rules. Returned to the field in ’10, producing 34-3 1/2-1 with three batted passes in 14 games (13 starts at right defensive tackle).
