Notes: The Arkansas prep appeared in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2008, making seven starts and grabbing 19 passes for 348 yards (18.3-yard average) and two touchdowns. Started 12-of-13 games in ’09, missing the start against Florida, and posted 41-681-5 (16.6). Caught 42-788-5 (18.8) while starting all 13 games in ’10. Has eight career punt returns for 47 yards. Was the team’s leading receiver in ’11 with 66-1,117-12 (16.9) in 12 starts. Missed the first game of his career against Troy (strained knee). Team captain. Only one career fumble.
Positives:Urgent athletic ability — sudden and flexible with very quick feet and loose hips. Explosive — recorded a 1.53-second, 10-yard split and a 38-inch vertical leap at the Combine. Jets off the line. Vertical threat. Snaps off high-speed cuts and separates consistently. Has quick hands to snare throws. Good field awareness. Courageous going over the middle. Has big-play ability — averaged more than 17 yards per catch over his career. Tough, confident and competitive. Hustler traits. Good awareness and football aptitude. Sterling character.
Negatives:Undersized — short and wiry with small hands. Needs to get stronger. Vulnerable to press and can be held up on his route if a cornerback gets his hands on him. Lets some throws into his body. Has size limitations — can be outmuscled in traffic or outfought for jump balls. Marginal run strength. Effortful but physically weak blocker.
Summary:Small-framed, wispy, quick-twitch, slot receiver and mismatch weapon who fits well in a versatile, sophisticated passing system. Has traits to be tried as a returner and will appeal to teams such as the Saints, Falcons or Giants.
