Notes:

Born and raised in London. Came to U.S. for a basketball camp in 2005, grew friendly with the family of a counselor at the camp and moved in with them in order to attend high school in New Jersey. Defensive end-tight end also played basketball and soccer at St. Augustine Prep. Played DE and TE spots as a freshman in 2008, tallying four tackles without a tackle for loss or sack with two batted passes in 13 games. Started all 13 games at DE spot in ’09 and totaled 31-14 1⁄2-5 1⁄2 with three batted passes and one forced fumble. Started 8-of-10 games in ’10, recording 14-4 1⁄2-2. Missed three games and did not start a pair of others because of a sprained right foot. Made all 13 starts at DRE spot in ’11 and totaled 40-7 1⁄2-6 1⁄2 with six batted passes. Battled minor knee injury second half of season and wore brace on knee as precautionary measure. Elected not to perform the bench press at the Combine.

Positives:

Has a big frame and nice wing span. Good linear movement. Solid base strength and lower-body power. Gives consistent effort in pursuit. Highly respected. Tough, competitive and hardworking. Good football aptitude. Takes pride in his craft and has progressed steadily.

Negatives:

Wound extremely tight with rigid, robotic movement — looks like he has a board in his back. Average weight-room strength. Needs to learn how to drop his anchor and use his hands. Is not explosive and lacks edge burst and flexibility to threaten as a rusher. Limited pass-rush variety. Still developing eyes and instincts. Ordinary production.

Summary:

Ultra-stiff base end who got a late introduction to football and is not as strong or as powerful as his size indicates. Has enough athletic ability and moldable talent to warrant developmental consideration as a swing backup.
