Notes:

Last name is pronounced “ZOO-uhr-line.” The Nebraska prep was a two-time all-state placekicker and also lettered in soccer. Began his collegiate career at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he redshirted in 2006. Took over the place kicking duties in ’07 and connected on 10-of-15 field goal attempts, with a long of 49, and 48-of-49 point-after tries. Also handled 72 kickoffs for a 63.7-yard average and 33 touchbacks. In ’08, he made 9-of-11 FG attempts with a long of 48, and 43-of-45 PATs in addition to 63-65.7-28 on kickoffs. Led UNO in scoring in ’09 with 91 points after hitting 17-of-23 field goals with a long of 52 and 40-of-44 extra point attempts. Kicked off 76-64.6-30 to lead all Division II kickers in touchbacks for a second straight season and five of his six missed field goals were blocked. Appeared in only one game in ’10 and made his only extra point attempt before undergoing surgery on his right hip (partially torn labrum). Transferred to Missouri Western after UNO dropped its’ football program before the ’11 season. Had a very accurate campaign, connecting on 23-of-24 field goals, including a pair of 58 yarders and 38-of-40 PATs. Set a NCAA Division II record with 21 consecutive field goals, including 9-of-9 from over 50 yards, and led the nation with a .952 field goal percentage. Boomed 75-66.5-30 on kickoffs.

Summary:

Strong-legged, consistent, productive, small-school standout who blasted 30 touchbacks and was nearly perfect on the year kicking field goals. Has had kicks blocked in the past and will have to prove mentally tough enough to handle the jump from marginal competition to the NFL, but has 60-yard range and the ability to handle kickoffs in the pros.
