Notes: His cousin, Edgerrin James, played 11 years as a running back in the NFL for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks. Rushed for more than 3,000 yards as a Florida prep and was a standout in basketball and track. His uncle, Albert Bentley, was a running back in the NFL for the Colts (1985-91) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1992). Greg redshirted in 2007. Played in all 13 games in ‘08, starting the final 12 contests at the “Sam” linebacker while recording 47 tackles, 6 1/2 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks with four pass breakups, two interceptions and a blocked field goal against Cincinnati. Returned one of his interceptions 20 yards for touchdown against Connecticut. Started 9-of-13 games at the SLB position in ’09 and managed 33-4-1/2 with a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown (Syracuse) and a forced fumble. Had a 50-yard fumble return for a score against Buffalo. Registered 64-5 1/2-1 with three pass breakups in 13 games in ’10, making nine starts at the SLB spot and the first two games at “Will” linebacker. Had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder in January ’11 and missed most of spring practice.
