Two-way lineman who also played basketball as a Pennsylvania prep. Redshirted in 2007. Backed up at tackle and guard in ’08, seeing action in all 13 games with one start. Suffered a broken left fibula and ligament damage in his ankle during the ’09 spring game but had surgery and healed in time to start all 13 games at left tackle, posting a team-high 15 “thunderbolt” blocks and 64 knockdowns. Started all 13 games at the OLT spot in ’10 and recorded six “thunderbolts” and 45 knockdowns. Had postseason surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder and sat out ’11 spring practice. Made all 13 starts at left tackle in the fall. Team captain.
