Notes: Named to the USA Today All-USA offensive team as a Florida prep where he also punted. Took over Georgia’s placekicker role as a true freshman in 2008, connecting on 15-of-23 field-goal attempts, with a long of 52, and drilling all 50 point-after tries. Also recorded 75 kickoffs for a 60.0-yard average and four touchbacks. Was a finalist for the Lou Groza Award in ’09 after making 20-of-22 FG attempts, with a long of 53, and all 42 PATs in addition to kicking off (75-63.9-17). Connected on 20-of-23 FG attempts, with a long of 53, and 46-of-47 PATs in ’10 plus kicked off 74-65.9-12. Connected on a school-record 119 consecutive PATs before missing the first of his career against Kentucky. Led the Bulldogs in scoring in ’11 with 109 points and made all 46 PATs but was quite inaccurate as a field-goal kicker, making only 21-of-35 kicks with a long of 56. Also kicked off 68-65.4-19.
Positives:Strong leg — launches kicks with NFL-caliber lift and height. Timely get-off. Smooth stroke. Four-year SEC kicker. Has experience in pressure situations on the big stage. Outstanding career production. Also kicks off.
Negatives:Needs to develop shorter memory. Senior season was his worst — struggled to dig himself out of a slump.
Summary:Looked like a pro since his arrival at Georgia and has clear traits to become a solid NFL kicker. However, he must prove his subpar senior season was an aberration.
