First name is pronounced “AH-met.” The Montreal product graduated from high school in 2005 and then spent three years at Vanier College, an English-language public college in Montreal, where he was a two-time team captain and the school’s all-time and single-season record holder in sacks. Vanier College also produced former University of Michigan star and Carolina Panthers RB Tshimanga “Tim” Biakabutuka. Began his career at Wofford in ’08 as a reserve defensive lineman and recorded 27 tackles, 6 1/2 tackles for loss and 3 1/2 sacks with four passes batted down in 12 games. Started 10-of-11 contests in ’09, making 29-8-4. Named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in ’10 after leading the conference in TFL and sacks with 60-22 1/2-12 1/2 with two forced fumbles in 13 games (11 starts) at right defensive end. Finished second in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, the highest finish ever for a Wofford player.
