Diles, who played at Kansas State, to help shore up the linebacker position.
The Chiefs signed Diles on Friday. Diles has spent six seasons in the NFL after he was drafted in the seventh round by the Houston Texans. He has appeared in 67 games with 31 starts for the Texans, Colts, Buccaneers and Titans, making 223 tackles with a sack and an interception.|||||||
Diles appeared in all 24 games in two seasons for the Wildcats. He began his college career at Fresno City College, where he started 22 games over two seasons.
Diles was placed on IR on Wednesday.|||||||

Coach Mike Munchak had no immediate update on the severity of Diles' injury. Munchak would only say that Diles' injury initially appeared to be more serious than an injury sustained by reserve linebacker Patrick Bailey, who hurt his chest while covering a kickoff in the third quarter. Diles was starting in place of Colin McCarthy, who missed his fourth game with an ankle injury.

Diles is a five-year veteran who played 11 games with Tampa Bay and Indianapolis last season. He started his career in Houston, where he played 50 games over four seasons, and he had his best year in 2009 when he started 12 games with 45 tackles and two forced fumbles.
