The Tennessee Titans have agreed to a three-year contract with Will Witherspoon as they revamp revamping their linebacking corps. The $11 million deal was announced Wednesday. General manager Mike Reinfeldt says Witherspoon likely will play outside linebacker.||||||| Witherspoon was released by the Philadelphia Eagles last week after being acquired from St. Louis in a trade last October.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a three-year, $11 million deal with Witherspoon, according to reports.||||||| The team confirmed that the 29-year-old Witherspoon visited the team Tuesday. The Tennessean and The (Nashville) City Paper reported on their Web sites Tuesday night that they had reached the team's first deal of free agency. Witherspoon was released by the Philadelphia Eagles last week after being acquired from St. Louis in a trade last October. The eight-year veteran played 17 games last season, the last 12 for the Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles have released Witherspoon. The 29-year-old Witherspoon was acquired from St. Louis in a trade last October. He was scheduled to earn $5 million this season. The move was announced Friday.||||||| Witherspoon played 12 games for the Eagles, recording 56 tackles, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble.Injuries forced Philadelphia to try numerous linebacker combinations last season, and Witherspoon started in the middle and at the weakside spot.

The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired Witherspoon from the St. Louis Rams for rookie wide receiver Brandon Gibson and a fifth-round pick in 2010.||||||| The Eagles made the trade Tuesday to get Witherspoon, an eight-year veteran who spent his first four seasons with Carolina. He was the Rams' starter at the weakside spot and had 36 tackles and one forced fumble this season.
