The Ravens' acquisition of Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin was wise on several levels, not the least of which was that it filled a huge need for Baltimore.

Ravens' Mason has been consistently productive
Ravens WR Derrick Mason remains tough to cover at age 36, and a multiyear deal for him to remain in Baltimore is not out of the question — or unreasonable.

The agent for Leach says the All-Pro fullback has signed a three-year, $11 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The Houston Texans were hoping to re-sign the 6-foot-2, 255-pound Leach, who was the lead blocker for Arian Foster, the NFL's leading rusher in 2010.|||||||
Houston contacted Leach immediately when free agency began, but Leach wanted to test the market after making his first Pro Bowl in 2010. Leach played the last five seasons with the Texans after signing with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2004.
Leach re-signed with the Texans on Monday after they matched an offer sheet he signed with the Giants. The 6-foot, 250-pound fullback originally signed with the Texans last October after he was cut by the Green Bay Packers. He appeared in 11 games with Houston, starting five and was the primary blocker during the last month of the season. Leach set a career high with six catches and caught his first career touchdown.|||||||
Leach has played in 34 career games with Green Bay and Houston, starting 10.
Leach signed an offer sheet for a four-year contract with the New York Giants on Monday. The Houston Texans, Leach's current team, have seven days to match the deal, worth more than $7 million. If they don't match, Leach becomes a Giant. "It's a good deal for a fullback," agent Ralph Vitolo said. "The Giants are obviously one of the best organizations in the NFL, they have an excellent quarterback (Eli Manning) and a great offense Vonta could probably excel in."|||||||
The 6-0, 250-pound Leach played two seasons with the Packers, appearing in 22 games, but had no rushes for the Packers. He was cut last September by Green Bay and joined the Saints, but soon was cut again and went to the Texans. Leach had six receptions and one touchdown catch for Houston.
Leach was acquired by New Orleans off waivers on Thursday, the second fullback the team has picked up in as many days. The Saints signed Corey McIntyre on Wednesday. New Orleans lost both fulbacks on their Week 1 roster. Leach was waived by Green Bay on Tuesday.|||||||
He played 23 games in three seasons for the Packers and started their 26-0 loss to Chicago on Sunday. He should see some time with the Saints although he won't be expected to rush the ball with Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister on the roster.
