The Cardinals have re-signed Holliday to a one-year contract.||||||| The 6-foot-5, 288-pound Holliday played in all 16 games for the Cardinals last season, recording 16 tackles. He has amassed 654 tackles, 62.5 sacks, 10 fumble recoveries and nine forced fumbles over 14 seasons in the NFL. The Cardinals acquired Holliday last year in a trade with the Washington Redskins.

Holliday was traded along with an undisclosed draft pick to Arizona for running back Tim Hightower on Sunday.||||||| Holliday spent one season with the Redskins, playing mostly as a reserve. The 35-year-old veteran has also played for Green Bay, Kansas City, Miami and Denver over 13 NFL seasons.

Holliday has been released after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, who have lost three defensive starters this offseason.||||||| Holliday was scheduled to make $2.8 million in base salary in 2008 and was due a $1.5 million roster bonus Tuesday. He started at end in the Dolphins' 3-4 scheme last year. At 33, Holliday was the Dolphins' second-oldest player. He started 15 games for the AFC East champions in 2008 and led the team's defensive linemen with 46 tackles. He was third on the team with 3.5 sacks.

Holliday has signed a four-year contract to stay with the Miami Dolphins.¶ Holliday would have been an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and re-signing him was a priority, new coach Cam Cameron said.||||||| Holliday started all 16 games last year and finished fourth on the team with 66 tackles, including seven sacks, which tied for third among NFL interior linemen. He helped the Dolphins rank fourth in the NFL in yards allowed.
