Young picked familiar ground in trying to revive his sinking NFL career. The quarterback used Tuesday's pro timing day workouts at the University of Texas to throw passes for scouts from dozens of teams.||||||| Seven years earlier, Young used the same venue to make his case as the top quarterback in the draft. On Tuesday, he was trying to convince someone that he's worthy of a roster spot. Young has been out of football since he was cut by the Buffalo Bills before last season. He came back to Texas, where's he enrolled in school to finish his degree and has been working out with hopes of getting another shot in the NFL.

Young admitted under oath he probably signed at least some of the documents for a $1.9 million loan he claims he shouldn't have to repay. "All I know is I probably could have signed some of them, and I feel like some of them are fishy," he testified in a videotaped deposition last month.||||||| Young, who has been out of football since he was cut by the Buffalo Bills before the start of the 2012 season, is fighting a $1.7 million judgment against him obtained by New York-based Pro Player Funding LLC last July. The former University of Texas star has said he wasn't involved in seeking the high-interest loan, funded during the NFL lockout in 2011, and never got the proceeds.

The Buffalo Bills have cut Young.||||||| Young posted comments on his Twitter account indicating his time in Buffalo was over on Monday morning. "Respect Bills fans," Young wrote. "I want to thank the Bills organization for the opportunity and with the organization and my teammates good luck this season."

Young is seeking a protective court order to stop a company from collecting nearly $1.7 million on a loan the Buffalo quarterback says he has no knowledge of ever taking out.||||||| In papers filed in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan on Monday, Young says he has never dealt with the loan company, Pro Player Funding. He adds, he doesn't recall agreeing to or signing documents to take out a $1.877 million loan in May 2011.

Vince Young has the inside track to win the Buffalo Bills' backup quarterback job. Bills coach Chan Gailey made the announcement Monday after the team returned to practice following a two-day break. He says, Young performed well enough in the first two preseason games to warrant more work with the second-team offense leading into Buffalo's preseason home game against Pittsburgh on Saturday.||||||| Since signing with Buffalo in May, Young has been competing with returning backup Tyler Thigpen for the No. 2 job. The loser is expected to be cut, because the third-string job is going to receiver/wildcat specialist Brad Smith. Young went 8-for-14 for a team-leading 123 yards passing in a 36-14 loss at Minnesota on Friday. Gailey also says rookie Cordy Glenn will be the team's starting left tackle.
