STATS, LLC PLAYER NEWS

Posted March 11, 2013
The New York Giants have placed a first-round tender on Cruz, allowing the wide receiver to enter restricted free agency. Team owner John Mara says Monday that the Giants will risk having Cruz agree to a contract with another club. New York has the right to match any offer, and if the Giants allow him to leave, they will get a first-round draft choice as compensation.||||||| The tender is worth $2.879 million for 2012 for Cruz, who has not made half of that in his three pro seasons. But Cruz believes he can earn more on the open market. Cruz has become one of the most popular athletes in the New York area with his salsa dances after touchdowns. He has 168 receptions for 2,628 yards and 19 touchdowns. He made the 2012 Pro Bowl and is considered one of the league's best slot receivers.
Posted Dec. 24, 2012
Cruz had three catches for 21 yards in Sunday's 33-14 loss to the Ravens.||||||| Cruz had his second straight three-reception effort as the Giants' passing attack has floundered the last two weeks.
Posted Dec. 10, 2012
Cruz hauled in eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 52-27 win over New Orleans.||||||| With 76 receptions, Cruz is all but certain to surpass his career high of 82 set last season. He doesn't have a great matchup in Week 15 against an Atlanta Falcons defense that's allowed just 13 passing touchdowns - tied for the third-fewest in the league.
Posted Oct. 22, 2012
Cruz caught seven passes for 131 yards, including the game-winning 78-yard touchdown from Eli Manning in the Giants' 27-23 win over the Redskins on Sunday.||||||| Cruz's touchdown catch was his seventh of the season, tying him with Cincinnati's A.J. Green and Green Bay's James Jones for the most in the NFL.
Posted Oct. 08, 2012
Cruz set a career best with three TD catches from Eli Manning on Sunday.||||||| Cruz, who only had 50 yards receiving, has recorded four of his five TDs in the last two games.
