The Denver Broncos had a surprise visitor show up for workouts on Wednesday after defensive lineman Ty Warren agreed to a restructured deal in time to join the team on the field. Warren will be part of a rotation of defensive tackles that will include Justin Bannan, Kevin Vickerson and rookie Derek Wolfe.||||||| Warren hasn't spent a lot of time on the field in recent seasons, sitting out 2010 with a hip injury while with New England and missing all of last season in Denver when he had surgery to repair his torn right triceps. Given his injury-riddled past, the team was hoping Warren would take a pay cut. He understood the business decision, saying, "Ultimately, we met at middle ground and got the deal done."

Warren will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his partially torn right triceps.||||||| Coach John Fox said Thursday that the Broncos won't place him on injured reserve. The team is hoping he can return to play in November. Warren was the Broncos' top free agency acquisition, signing a two-year, $8 million deal two weeks ago.

Warren is out indefinitely. The Broncos are hoping he won't need surgery and can return to the field at some point this season, although that would mean going with a 52-man roster for a while.||||||| The Broncos made the former Patriots star interior lineman the centerpiece of their free agent class by signing him to a two-year, $8 million deal that included a $2.5 million bonus and $1.5 million salary for 2011.

The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms with former New England Patriots defensive lineman Ty Warren.||||||| Warren was released by the Patriots on Friday. ESPN reported the deal was worth $10 million over two years with $2.5 million guaranteed. Warren was the 13th overall pick in the 2003 draft out of Texas A&M. He spent all of last season on injured reserve with a hip injury after being a regular starter for six seasons, collecting 20 1/2 sacks in 92 games for the Patriots.
