Brandstater or newcomer Kellen Clemens could start Monday night with the Rams' top two quarterbacks injured.||||||| Brandstater, who is in his second year out of Fresno State, has not played in an NFL game. Clemens split duties Friday with No. 3 quarterback Tom Brandstater, who did not take any reps with the first team Saturday.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed quarterback Tom Brandstater and receiver Dominique Edison after they were cut by other teams.||||||| Brandstater, cut by the Dolphins, was drafted out of Fresno State by Denver in the sixth round in the 2009 draft. He was released last year after the Broncos drafted Tim Tebow and acquired Brady Quinn. Brandstater had since had time on practice squads in Indianapolis and Miami.

Brandstater completed 10 of 18 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the Colts' 30-28 loss to Cincinnati in their final preseason game Thursday.||||||| Brandstater is expected to be the Colts' No. 3 quarterback this season and has no fantasy value.

Brandstater turned in a solid dress rehearsal. Next up just may be the real thing. With Denver's top two quarterbacks injured, Brandstater stepped in and guided the Broncos to a 19-0 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason finale Thursday night.||||||| In a composed and effective performance, Brandstater completed 16 of 30 passes for 187 yards, and led the Broncos to scores on four of their first five possessions. The only blemish for the sixth-round draft pick out of Fresno State was an interception by Michael Adams just before halftime. Still, Brandstater could be a star in the making like Tony Rono of the Cowboys.

With the Denver Broncos' top two quarterbacks sidelined by injuries, rookie Brandstater will start the team's preseason finale Thursday night against Arizona.||||||| Brandstater played more than a half in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Chicago, leading the Broncos to two touchdowns after coming on for the injured Kyle Orton.
