Tebow plans to report for offseason workouts Monday with a "great attitude."||||||| He offered little insight into his feelings about the Jets signing quarterback David Garrard or about the rampant speculation that his time in New York might be ending after one disappointing and unproductive season.
Posted Feb. 19, 2013
The Jets are also hamstrung by the contract of Sanchez, who is coming off a miserable season but is guaranteed $8.25 million in 2013.||||||| He would cost the Jets a $17.1 million cap hit if they cut him.
Posted Jan. 10, 2013
Tebow won't be playing for his hometown team. The Jacksonville Jaguars made it clear Thursday that they have no plans to pursue the popular and polarizing New York Jets backup quarterback.||||||| The Jets are likely to release the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and Jacksonville native during the offseason, and many believed Tebow would land with the Jaguars. ESPN quoted a source who said it was a "virtual certainty" that Tebow would play in Jacksonville in 2013. But new general manager David Caldwell nixed that idea at his introductory news conference, saying, "I can't imagine a scenario in which he'll be a Jacksonville Jaguar - even if he's released."

Tebow and Mark Sanchez are both active as Greg McElroy's backups in the New York Jets' regular-season home finale against the San Diego Chargers.||||||| It is the first time all season that Rex Ryan has had all three of his quarterbacks active for a game. By having all three available, Ryan avoids having to designate either Sanchez or Tebow as the No. 2 quarterback Sunday.
Posted Dec. 19, 2012
Rex Ryan had higher expectations for the New York Jets' wildcat-style offense with Tebow, and says things haven't "panned out" the way he or the backup quarterback anticipated.||||||| Ryan would not go into detail Wednesday about why he chose Greg McElroy over Tebow to replace the struggling Mark Sanchez as the starting quarterback. He says it was his decision to go with the third-stringer, and didn't consult with any players before making the call Tuesday - other than to tell Sanchez after the Jets' 14-10 loss to Tennessee on Monday night that he was out as the starter.
