The Bengals placed Howard on the reserve/injured list Friday, after suffering a season-ending knee injury in practice this week.||||||| Howard, a seven-year veteran from UTEP, was Cincinnati's tackling leader last season with 120 stops, and started in the Bengals' Week 1 loss to the Ravens on Monday night. He had four tackles, including a sack, and a pass defensed in the 44-13 defeat.

The Oakland Raiders say Howard has signed his restricted free agent tender.||||||| Howard was a second-round pick in 2006. He has started 64 of 66 games in his career. He has seven career interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns, but Howard's starting position this year is in jeopardy. Coach Tom Cable said Thursday that Kamerion Wimbley and Trevor Scott would start at outside linebacker.
