Pryor will make his first career start at quarterback for the Oakland Raiders in their season finale in San Diego.||||||| Coach Dennis Allen announced Friday that he is picking Pryor to start Sunday's game in place of the injured Carson Palmer. Pryor and Matt Leinart had been splitting time in practice earlier this week but Allen decided to go with the younger Pryor.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen says he won't pick a starting quarterback until after Friday's practice but it seems likely Terrelle Pryor and Matt Leinart will both get to play in Sunday's season finale.||||||| With Carson Palmer sidelined for Oakland's season finale in San Diego with cracked ribs and a bruised lung, backup Leinart and third-stringer Pryor have been sharing time at practice this week.

Pryor and Matt Leinart shared reps in practice on Wednesday. However, coach Dennis Allen did not select a starter for Sunday's game in San Diego.||||||| Allen said Wednesday that Leinart and Pryor split the workload with Oakland's first-team offense during practice, but Pryor later said Leinart took the majority of reps. Leinart has started just two games since 2007 while Pryor has never started in his two NFL seasons.

After spending most of the season on the bench, Terrelle Pryor has been playing a key role this week for the Oakland Raiders by impersonating Cam Newton in practice. Pryor could have an even higher-profile role come game time Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp says Pryor will get on the field in certain specialty packages for the Raiders (4-10).||||||| Pryor made his season debut last week, handing the ball off twice and throwing one incomplete pass as he coaching staff wanted to give him an entire series. The next step is using him in specific situations that can take advantage of his athleticism at quarterback.
