Knighton has been fined $25,000 by the NFL for making helmet-to-helmet contact with Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, who was defenseless at the time.||||||| The hit came in Indianapolis' victory Nov. 8 at Jacksonville and negated an interception by Aaron Ross.
Posted May 24, 2012
Knighton is taking "baby steps" toward a full recovery from eye surgery.||||||| Knighton donned a helmet at practice Thursday for the first time in organized team activities and went through some individual drills. Although his progress did nothing to alter his planned return - the team wants to limit his work until training camp in July - it provided Knighton an emotional boost. Knighton injured his left eye while trying to break up a bar fight in April.
Posted May 15, 2012
Speaking publicly for the first time since a bar fight last month, Knighton opened with an apology.||||||| Knighton apologized to the city of Jacksonville and the organization for "embarrassing them with the actions that happened that night." Then he answered any and every question about that night, his rehabilitation and his chances of making a full recovery. If his eye responds as well, the Jaguars should have their run-stuffing defender back for training camp.

Knighton will miss at least the next three months of the team's offseason program following eye surgery.||||||| The Jaguars are hopeful the 340-pound run-stopper will make a full recovery, but general manager Gene Smith said Monday he doesn't know how quickly Knighton, who has a history of weight issues, can get healthy. If the Jaguars have any concerns, next week's draft is the perfect place to get some insurance. Knighton had surgery April 8, hours after being hit with a bottle at a Jacksonville nightclub.
Posted Aug. 13, 2011
Knighton, who arrived at training camp more than 20 pounds overweight, was cleared to practice Saturday and could play in the team's second preseason game next week.||||||| He said he's "somewhere in the 340s," still leaving him some weight to lose before getting to the 335 pounds the team feels will get him in "fighting shape."
