The Buffalo Bills have re-signed Choice.|||||||
Choice, who was a free agent, enters his sixth NFL season. Buffalo claimed him off waivers in late November 2011. He had 47 carries for 193 yards and a touchdown in 12 games last season playing behind starters C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson.
Choice had 91 yards on 20 carries in a 24-14 win over Cleveland after C.J. Spiller left with a shoulder injury.|||||||
It's unclear if Choice, the Bills' third-string running back, or Fred Jackson will get the bulk of the carries in Sunday's game against New England. Jackson was initially expected to miss about a month after he sprained his right knee in a season-opening 48-28 loss at the Jets two weeks ago. After spending last week working out on his own along the sideline, Jackson will get his first test in a team setting Wednesday, when the Bills return to practice.
Choice has agreed to re-sign with the Buffalo Bills after being a late-season pickup last year. He is is expected to compete for a reserve spot behind a fully recovered Jackson and C.J. Spiller. Buffalo was Choice's third team last season after he opened with Dallas before being waived, and was then claimed by Washington|||||||
Choice had 23 carries for 70 yards, and added seven catches for 51 yards in six games with Buffalo. The Bills claimed him off waivers on Nov. 23 after starter Fred Jackson broke his right leg. Choice spent his first three NFL seasons with the Cowboys, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. He has 1,216 yards rushing and nine touchdowns in 61 career games, including four starts.
The newly acquired Tashard Choice practiced both Thursday and Friday for Buffalo, and could be active Sunday against the Jets (5-5).|||||||
