Smith was placed on injured reserve with a bone bruise for the Eagles.||||||| It's the same knee Smith had microfracture surgery on last year. His future in the NFL looks very murky since microfracture surgery is tough to recover from.

Smith is out for the rest of the season with an injury to his left knee. The team said Wednesday that Smith will need season-ending surgery on the knee he hurt in Monday night's win over Minnesota.||||||| He was examined by Dr. Russell Warren at the Hospital for Special Surgery on Tuesday and had an MRI. He injured the articular cartilage in his knee when he was tackled from behind in the 21-3 win in Detroit on Monday. The game was Smith's first after missing the previous four with a partial tear of his pectoral muscle. He had 48 catches this season for 529 yards. The fourth-year receiver set a team record with 107 catches last season.

Smith had nine catches for 103 yards in Sunday's 29-10 loss to Tennessee.||||||| This was what fantasy owners have been waiting for from the Pro Bowl wideout, although it wouldn't hurt for him to reach the end zone as well.
