Smith, who had 107 receptions for the New York Giants in 2009, will be entering his sixth season. Last year he caught nine passes in 11 games before being sidelined by a knee injury.

He injured the articular cartilage in his knee when he was tackled from behind in the 21-3 win in Detroit on Monday. The game was Smith's first after missing the previous four with a partial tear of his pectoral muscle. He had 48 catches this season for 529 yards. The fourth-year receiver set a team record with 107 catches last season.
