Smith, who had 107 receptions for the New York Giants in 2009, will be entering his sixth season. Last year he caught nine passes in 11 games before being sidelined by a knee injury.
Smith was placed on injured reserve with a bone bruise for the Eagles.|||||||
It's the same knee Smith had microfracture surgery on last year. His future in the NFL looks very murky since microfracture surgery is tough to recover from.

He was examined by Dr. Russell Warren at the Hospital for Special Surgery on Tuesday and had an MRI. He injured the articular cartilage in his knee when he was tackled from behind in the 21-3 win in Detroit on Monday. The game was Smith's first after missing the previous four with a partial tear of his pectoral muscle. He had 48 catches this season for 529 yards. The fourth-year receiver set a team record with 107 catches last season.
