The New Orleans Saints acquired Shanle Wednesday from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for an undisclosed 2007 NFL draft pick, pending a physical. Shanle had been a special teams standout for the Cowboys since joining the team in 2004. He started 11 of 37 career games.|||||||
Shanle is entering his fourth NFL season since being drafted in the seventh round by the St. Louis Rams in 2003. He had 50 tackles and 1.5 sacks for Dallas last season.
Shanle re-signed with the Cowboys on Friday, inking a one-year, $721,600 deal. The linebacker played in 15 games, starting seven following the career-ending injury to Dat Nyugen. Shanle had 50 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks.|||||||
