Fujita is contemplating retirement from the Cleveland Browns because of a neck injury. Fujita said Friday he is not ready to announce that his career is over and wants time to discuss the decision with family. He said he is more sad than angry at not being able to play||||||| The 33-year-old linebacker, one of four players suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his role in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, last played Oct. 7 against the New York Giants. Fujita had neck surgery in college and said he was grateful to play another 13 years "relatively pain free."

Fujita, one of the league's most informed players, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a neck injury, ending his stormy season - and perhaps his football career.||||||| Fujita, one four players suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his role in the New Orleans Saints' bounty scandal, was inactive the past two games. He last started on Oct. 7 in a game against the New York Giants. Browns coach Pat Shurmur does not know if Fujita, an 11-year veteran and one of the league's most informed players, will retire.

The NFL is again urging a federal judge to avoid interfering in Commissioner Roger Goodell's efforts to discipline four players for the Saints' cash-for-hits bounty pool.In a response Wednesday to papers the players filed earlier this week, the NFL says its labor agreement gives Goodell the power to handle discipline involving conduct detrimental to football "at his discretion."||||||| U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan is considering the players' request to overturn varying suspensions to Saints linebacker Jon Vilma, Saints defensive end Will Smith, free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove and Cleveland linebacker Scott Fujita.

Fujita and defensive tackle Ahtyba Rubin will not play against Cincinnati because of injuries.||||||| Fujita was listed on Cleveland's injury report this week with a shoulder/neck injury. He missed two practices during a week in which he slammed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for his handling of the New Orleans' bounty scandal. With Fujita out, rookie James-Michael Johnson will make his first career start. He made his debut last week on special teams against the Giants.
