Mathews broke his left collarbone. Mathews, who broke his right collarbone on his first carry of the exhibition season, played in 12 regular-season games. He was the team's leading rusher with 707 yards and a touchdown on 184 carries.
Mathews ran for 54 yards on 17 carries on Sunday against Tampa Bay.|||||||
After averaging 4.0 yards per carry or better in five of his first six games this season, Mathews was held to a season-low 3.2 yards per carry on Sunday. But owners shouldn't be too alarmed as the Tampa Bay defense is the best in the league at stopping the run. Still, Mathews hasn't found the end zone since Oct. 7.
