The Packers announced last week that Cedric Benson would stay on injured reserve with a foot injury, and Johnny White was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a concussion. There are also multiple reports that James Starks was hurt in Sunday's victory over Minnesota. Grant is fifth on Green Bay's all-time rushing list, running for 4,016 yards and 25 touchdowns from 2007-11.

Grant is active Sunday, the first time he's on the game-day roster for the Redskins since signing as a free agent last month.||||||| Grant spent the last five years with Green Bay and is likely to see his first action with Washington.

The Washington Redskins have signed Grant.||||||| Grant arrived for his first practice Wednesday after agreeing to terms late Tuesday. He is expected to back up rookie starter Alfred Morris. Grant spent five seasons with the Green Bay Packers but has been looking for work the team opted not to re-sign him after last season.
