Diem started 150 games, most of those at right tackle, since the Colts selected the Northern Illinois alum in the fourth round of the 2001 draft. He started his career as a guard, and moved back inside last season after bringing back Diem on a one-year contract. Indy considered letting him go during the 2011 offseason, but when Peyton Manning signed his contact in late July, the Colts cleared enough room to re-sign Diem and Joseph Addai.

Coach Tony Dungy said it was unlikely Diem would play in Saturday's preseason game at Atlanta because of an injured shoulder.
