After signing Mark Anderson on Wednesday, the Houston Texans waived Denney.||||||| The Texans signed Denney as a free agent after backup defensive end Connor Barwin broke his ankle in the season opener. Denney was inactive for last week's game against Oakland. Houston has been looking for a defensive end to complement All-Pro Mario Williams, who has five of the team's nine sacks this season.

Fifteen Buffalo Bills players are on injured reserve after Denney was placed on the season-ending list Wednesday. To fill Denney's place on the roster, the Bills claimed offensive tackle Patrick Estes off waivers, a day after he was released by San Francisco.||||||| Denney is out after hurting his foot in an 8-0 loss at Cleveland last weekend. The Bills did not specify whether the injury was to Denney's left foot, which he broke during a preseason game in August and led to him missing the first seven games this season. A six-year NFL veteran, Denney had 37 tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and forced fumble in seven games, including two starts, this season.

Denney suffered a broken left foot in a preseason game against Atlanta on Friday night, according to the Buffalo News.||||||| Head coach Dick Jauron told the newspaper he's not sure if the injury is season-ending, but said, “At the very least he’ll miss a substantial amount of time here.” Denney's absence is of particular concern in the season's opening weeks with fellow defensive end Anthony Hargrove suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Denney had two tackles and two assists to help the Bills to a 24-10 win over Green Bay on Sunday. The defensive end was listed as questionable with a right hamstring injury that he suffered during a 28-6 loss to New England on Oct. 22. He used the bye week to rest.|||||||

The reserve defensive end has 22 tackles with three sacks and one forced fumble in seven games this season.
