The San Diego Chargers made deals with two running backs Friday, agreeing to a two-year contract with former New England Patriots Danny Woodhead and a one-year deal to bring back Brown.|||||||
Brown played in 14 games for the Bolts last season, starting one. He rushed for 220 yards on 46 carries and tied for second on the team with 49 receptions for 371 yards.
Brown only recorded 17 yards on four carries against Cleveland on Sunday, but he also caught a season-high seven balls for 85 yards.|||||||
Brown's seven catches were his most since making nine in another game against Cleveland in 2007. The 85 yards were also his second-highest career receiving total, as he racked up 99 receiving yards on Sept. 23, 2007, against the Jets. Brown is San Diego's second-leading receiver with 257 yards on 27 receptions.
The Chargers have agreed to a one-year deal with Brown.|||||||
The 6-foot, 230-pound Brown ran for 136 yards and a touchdown last season while backing up LeSean McCoy with the Philadelphia Eagles. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft, Brown spent his first six seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
The Philadelphia Eagles traded Brown to the Detroit Lions for running back Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed draft pick in 2013.|||||||
Brown had only 13 carries for 38 yards with the Eagles. His fumble against San Francisco cost last-place Philadelphia a win.

The 29-year-old Brown rushed for 4,815 yards and 36 touchdowns and caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards with Miami. He ran for 1,000 yards in 2006 and made his only Pro Bowl team in 2008. Before adding Brown, the Eagles' only experienced running backs were starter LeSean McCoy, who ran for 1,080 yards and caught 70 passes last year, and Eldra Buckley, who has just 36 carries in two years with the Eagles.
