Bartell broke his shoulder blade in a season-opening loss to San Diego. Under a new NFL rule, Bartell is allowed to return to practice Oct. 27 and could play as early as Nov. 11 at Baltimore.

Bartell, the team's top coverage corner, said Monday that doctors have told him there's no extra risk in playing again. He fractured two bones in his neck when he absorbed a block by a Philadelphia Eagles lineman in a 31-13 loss on Sept. 11.

Bartell started 14 games last season. He tied a career high with three interceptions last season and broke up 20 passes, the most by a Ram since Jerametrius Butler had 22 in 2004.
