McClain has signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens.||||||| The 6-foot-4, 259-pound McClain spent three years with Oakland after being selected eighth overall in the 2010 NFL draft. In 41 career games, he has 274 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks and one interception. He has a chance to take over for Ray Lewis, who retired after 17 seasons.

The Oakland Raiders have waived McClain less than three years after drafting him eighth overall.||||||| McClain is the third player drafted in the top 10 by late owner Al Davis to be let go so far this offseason by second-year general manager Reggie McKenzie. Defensive back Michael Huff (seventh pick in 2006) and receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (seventh pick in `09) were cut last month.

McClain is inactive for the Oakland Raiders in his first game back from a two-game suspension.||||||| McClain returned this week from a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team after being demoted to second string but will miss the game.

Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen says he told McClain not to come to practice a day after being held out for team-related issues.||||||| Allen would not address the reasons for his decision on Thursday other than to say there are "consequences to his actions." McClain did not report to the team facility Thursday. Allen says McClain is still on the team's roster but says a decision about his future will need to be made. McClain was the eighth overall pick in the 2010 draft. He has struggled so far in his career and has had his playing time sharply reduced in recent weeks.
