Sims has started all four games for the winless Lions this season. He started 30 games the previous two years for the Seattle Seahawks. Detroit acquired Sims from Seattle in April for defensive end Robert Henderson and for an exchange of lower-round draft picks. Sims was Seattle's fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft.

The teams also swapped draft picks with Seattle getting Detroit's fifth-round pick in this month's draft, and the Lions getting the first of Seattle's two seventh-round picks. Sims was Seattle's fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft and started 34 of 45 games played in his four seasons with the Seahawks. Sims started all 14 games he played in last season at left guard.
