The Arizona Cardinals have signed former Washington Redskins third-stringer Bartel (Bar-TELL).||||||| Bartel was released by the Redskins in their final roster cut on Sept. 4. He was Washington's third quarterback in the final six games of last season but did not appear in any games. Bartel had played this season for Sacramento of the United Football League.

The Jaguars signed Bartel to the practice squad Monday.||||||| Bartel, a first-year pro from Tarleton State, has spent time with Dallas and Cleveland. He signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and spent time on the team's practice squad in 2007 and 2008. He was signed to Cleveland's practice squad in late November and joined the active roster on Dec. 24.
