Bomar returned to training Monday with the rest of the team after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving over the weekend.|||||||
Bomar, 26, was booked about 5:15 a.m. Sunday for third-degree driving while intoxicated, Blue Earth County Jail spokeswoman Amber Carlson said. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said Bomar addressed the team prior to practice Monday morning at Minnesota State University and apologized for his actions.

Blue Earth County Jail spokeswoman Amber Carlson says Bomar was booked about 5:15 a.m. Sunday on third-degree driving while intoxicated. Carlson says Bomar has been released. The Vikings picked up the 26-year-old quarterback in late December from the New York Giants practice squad. He was a 15th pick of the fifth round in the 2009 draft after playing two seasons at Sam Houston State.

Bomar lost his job when the Giants acquired veteran quarterback Sage Rosenfels from Minnesota. Rosenfels previously backed up gunslinger Brett Favre with the Vikings. "Bomar's progress has been outstanding," coach Tom Coughlin said. "He's worked very, very hard. He did receive a lot of attention, he did make progress and he did show us what he can do."
Bomar completed 11 of 24 passes for 171 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Giants' 20-17 win over New England in their preseason finale Thursday.|||||||
