Grossman told ESPN 980 on Saturday that he's fully aware the Redskins are going to draft a quarterback - probably Heisman Trophy winner Griffin - with the No. 2 overall pick next month. But Grossman said he wants to remain a part of the team and play a part in its turnaround after another last-place season. Grossman won the starting job out of training camp last year, was benched for John Beck after five games, then later regained the No. 1 spot.
Grossman completed 26 of 35 passes for 314 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 23-17 win over Seattle. He hit Anthony Armstrong on a 50-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to give Washington the lead and stun the Seahawks.|||||||
The touchdown came one play after Grossman was called for intentional grounding while getting driven to the turf. Grossman stepped up in the pocket to avoid the pass rush, then unloaded his toss for Armstrong. It was Armstrong's first catch since Week 7 at Carolina, his sixth of the season and his only one on Sunday.
