The Bengals re-signed TE Reggie Kelly on Thursday. They also signed undrafted free-agent CB Johnny Sears and claimed RB Walter Mendenhall off waivers from Buffalo.

The Bengals placed Kelly on injured reserve on Wednesday, ending his season. He had surgery Wednesday to repair a ruptured Achilles' tendon in his left leg.||||||| Cincinnati's starting tight end got hurt during a non-contact drill on Monday and was taken for an exam. Kelly finished third on the team in receiving last season with 31 catches for 207 yards. The injury opens the way for Ben Utecht to take a larger role. The 11-year veteran is expected to be fully healed by the start of next season.

Kelly agreed to a three-year, $9 million contract that includes a $3 million signing bonus. Kelly has spent the last four seasons in Cincinnati.||||||| Kelly started all 16 games last season, catching 21 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown.
