Mathis agreed to a one-year, incentive-laden contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. The deal could be worth up to $5 million.||||||| A second-round draft pick out of Bethune-Cookman in 2003, Mathis has spent his entire career in Jacksonville. He has 538 tackles and a franchise-record 30 interceptions in 125 career games. He would have hit the free-agent market next week, but the Jaguars decided to bring him back for at least one more season. Mathis will turn 32 in August. Mathis has missed 17 games over the last four seasons because of injuries. He missed the final seven games in 2011 with a torn ACL

The Jaguars placed cornerback Rashean Mathis, guard Eben Britton and backup linebacker/special teams standout Kyle Bosworth on injured reserve because of injuries.||||||| Mathis tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Sunday at Indianapolis and will have season-ending surgery.

Mathis left Sunday's game against the Colts with a left knee injury.||||||| Mathis went down without contact in the second quarter. He went down to the ground and was attended to by trainers. He was helped off the field and didn't put any pressure on the left leg as he moved across the field. He was carted off after he got to the sideline.

Mathis was inactive for Sunday's game. against Miami.||||||| Mathis, a Pro Bowler in 2006 who owns the franchise record for interceptions (28), injured his groin against the New York Jets last month. He has missed the last four games.
