Carter, 24, was arrested late Saturday at the Texas Station casino in North Las Vegas. Security officials reported he was videotaped adding a $5 chip to three bets after the dice already rolled, according to a police report. Carter denied wrongdoing when police arrived.

Carter started 10 games last season but a torn right hamstring at an indoor practice July 27 led doctors to discover he needed arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He returned Aug. 30 but played mostly on special teams this season with Rahim Moore and Mike Adams the starting safeties.

Carter has been out since July 27, when he popped his right hamstring and needed arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. The second-year safety said he hurt his left knee in a game against New England on Dec. 18 but even though it grew more and more painful, MRIs hid the injury until last month when he pulled his hamstring inside the team's practice bubble.
Carter said Monday that the right hamstring he popped at the Denver Broncos' indoor practice bubble last month was a blessing because it led doctors to discover he needed a left knee operation.|||||||
Carter made his first appearance at training camp since getting hurt July 27 and said afterward he hopes to return to the field by next week so he can play in the Broncos' third preseason game, against San Francisco on Aug. 26.
