Jammer is questionable to return after hurting his calf Sunday.|||||||
Jammer was hurt while trying to tackle Denver's Willis McGahee.
Jammer will miss Sunday night's home game against the Indianapolis Colts because of a hamstring injury. Jammer injured his hamstring against Houston on Oct. 28 and aggravated it last Sunday against the Vikings. The team listed him as doubtful on Friday's injury report, but the cornerback said he won't be in uniform.|||||||
Antonio Cromartie will make his first pro start in place of Jammer. Cromartie has scored three touchdowns in the past two games, including setting an NFL record by returning a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown in a 35-17 loss at Minnesota last Sunday. In a 35-10 win against Houston two weeks ago, he scored on a 70-yard interception return and when he recovered an errant punt snap in the end zone.
Jammer pulled a hamstring in the second quarter Sunday against the Vikings and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.|||||||
The cornerback injured his right hamstring last week, although it's unclear whether it was the same injury. Antonio Cromartie will see an increased role now.
Jammer signed a five-year contract extension on Wednesday, taking him through the 2012 season. Jammer has started every game for the Chargers since 2003. Financial terms were not disclosed.|||||||
