The Browns waived RB Thomas Clayton on Wednesday, the team announced. Earlier Wednesday, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, the Browns claimed ex-Buccaneers S Sabby Piscitelli off waivers, which would have necessitated Cleveland clearing a roster spot.

A person familiar with the agreement says Kruger, who led the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens in sacks last season, has agreed to contract terms with the Cleveland Browns.||||||| Kruger and the club agreed to a five-year deal Tuesday, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because it has not yet been announced by the Browns. Kruger gives the Browns a proven pass-rusher as they transition to a new defensive system. He had 13 1/2 sacks last season, including two in the Super Bowl as Baltimore held off San Francisco to win the title.

The Baltimore Ravens have left Kruger inactive for their playoff game against the New England Patriots.||||||| Kruger, a second-round draft pick, has joined with Michael Oher and Lardarius Webb to make significant contributions as rookies this season. He played in the last eight games of the regular season and had an interception in overtime against Pittsburgh in the penultimate week.
