The team announced the deal Monday.||||||| The veteran long snapper holds the franchise record for games played (230) and seasons (15). He is the only player from the 1998 draft still with the team that picked him.

Mannelly set a Bears record by playing in his 192nd game, moving past Steve McMichael.||||||| Mannelly, in his 13th season with the Bears, set the record on a missed field goal by Robbie Gould early in the first quarter against Green Bay on Monday night. He was a sixth-round draft pick out of Duke by Chicago in 1998. McMichael, a defensive tackle, was a member of the Bears' 1985 Super Bowl champions.

Mannelly, who had been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2005 campaign, has signed a six-year contract extension with the Chicago Bears. The offensive lineman, who has appeared in 109 games in his seven seasons in Chicago, serves as the team's long snapper.|||||||
