The Seahawks signed DE Patrick Chukwurah on Wednesday and placed DE Chris Clemons on injured reserve.

The Seattle Seahawks have signed Chukwurah after placing Chris Clemons on injured reserve.||||||| Chukwurah has not played in an NFL game since 2007 with Tampa Bay. He spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons in the UFL with the Florida Tuskers, where he led the league in sacks.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed veteran defensive end Patrick Chukwurah on Thursday.||||||| Chukwurah originally signed with the Bucs as a free agent in March 2007. He appeared in nine games last season, finishing with 16 tackles and one sack. He was released on June 20. Chukwurah has also played for Minnesota and Denver since being a fifth-round pick by the Vikings out of Wyoming in 2001.

The hybrid defender agreed to a five-year, $5.5 million deal with Tampa Bay on Friday. He had 12 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks last season with Denver.||||||| In 69 career games, Chukwurah has recorded 26 tackles and eight sacks.

Chukwurah is inactive for the Broncos' game on Sunday because of a hamstring injury. Chukwurah is the team's backup defensive end and likely wouldn't have seen action, but the team signed Antwon Burton from the practice squad to give them more depth. Chukwurah has played in eight games this season and has 10 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.|||||||

Chukwurah is probable for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. The Denver Broncos defensive end is recovering from an ankle injury but has practiced and should line up against the Rams.||||||| Chukwurah is a third string defensive end for the Broncos who will likely fill in for injured starter Courtney Brown with Kenard Lang or John Engelberger to start opposite Ebenezer Ekuban.
