Sims played just eight games last season for Cincinnati after beginning the year on the physically unable to perform list with a hamstring injury. He had 12 solo tackles and one interception as a reserve. He has five sacks in 60 career games.
The Bengals added Sims to the 53-man roster on Friday, adding depth to a defensive line that has struggled to get pressure on the quarterback lately.|||||||

Sims, who was an unrestricted free agent, has spent his first four seasons with Cincinnati and started 23 games. He played in 11 games last season before an ankle injury ended his campaign and totaled 28 tackles with one sack.
The Bengals have placed Sims on season-ending injured reserve Wednesday after learning his left ankle was more severely hurt than initially thought.|||||||
The defensive tackle sat out a 35-7 loss in Pittsburgh with the injury, but hoped to be recovered before the end of the season. Coach Marvin Lewis says additional tests indicated the injury was too severe. Sims wore a protective boot on the left foot Wednesday and declines to talk about the injury, other than to say he is disappointed he won't get a chance to play again.
The Bengals put Sims on injured reserve with a broken forearm, suffered during a 37-0 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday night.|||||||
Cincinnati replaced him on the roster by signing cornerback Keiwan Ratliff on Monday. Ratliff was a second-round pick in 2004 who played parts of four seasons in Cincinnati.
