The Cardinals have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Lenon.|||||||
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Lenon played 15 games with the St. Louis Rams last season, 10 as a starter. He had 44 tackles - 25 solo - and three forced fumbles. He was released by the New England Patriots in training camp last year, then was signed by the Rams. The nine-year NFL veteran has also played with Carolina, Green Bay and Detroit.
The New England Patriots signed Lenon on Wednesday. The Patriots needed linebacker help after third-round draft pick Tyrone McKenzie tore a knee ligament at rookie minicamp earlier this month.|||||||
The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Lenon had signed with Carolina as a rookie free agent from Richmond in April 2000, but was cut before training camp. He was with Seattle for 10 days during the 2001 preseason and was signed to the Packers' practice squad in 2001. He played in 16 games for them in 2002. He spent the next three seasons in Detroit and became a free agent after the Lions went 0-16 last season. He had 124 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in 2008.
Lenon hurt his knee in the Lions' season-opening 34-21 loss at Atlanta on Sunday.|||||||
Lenon was limited in his participation in practice on Wednesday, and it's unclear if he'll play Sunday when the Lions host Green Bay.
