The Arizona Cardinals have lost Schofield for the season with an injured left ankle.|||||||
Schofield was injured in Sunday's 31-17 loss at Green Bay. Initially, it was thought it probably was only a sprain but further examination uncovered ligament damage that requires surgery. Schofield, a fourth-round draft pick out of Wisconsin in 2010, has 34 tackles and four sacks this season.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt might activate the rookie linebacker for the first time this season.|||||||
Schofield, who had 12 sacks as a senior at Illinois, was considered among the top players at his position in college but blew out his left knee while practicing for the Senior Bowl. The Cardinals selected him in the fourth round, knowing they would have to wait for his injured knee to heal.
