Diggs is out for the rest of the season because of a torn pectoral muscle.||||||| Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that Diggs would have surgery, probably this week, and that the anticipated recovery time is five months. The 32-year-old Diggs had five tackles in Sunday's 19-6 victory at Arizona including one for a loss.

The St. Louis Rams have signed Diggs.||||||| The veteran linebacker has made 127 career starts for Green Bay and Carolina, where he spent the past four seasons. The 31-year-old linebacker started 11 games for the Panthers last season, and led the Packers in tackles from 2002-04.

Diggs was carted off the field with an apparent right hamstring injury on Monday.||||||| It's unclear how severe the injury is. It comes at a time for the Panthers are thin at linebacker while first-round pick Jon Beason is holding out. Beason is expected to replace Diggs at linebacker.
