Sellers is expected to play Sunday against the Bears despite a heel injury.||||||| Sellers was limited in practice Friday and was a "little sore still," according to coach Mike Shanahan, but the Redskins expect him to play.

Washington Redskins fullback Mike Sellers has signed a contract extension.||||||| Sellers stayed away from much of the team's offseason workouts because he was unhappy with his previous deal. He says a meeting with owner Dan Snyder led to a new agreement. Sellers is in his ninth season with the Redskins. He left in 2001 to join Cleveland, but he encountered off-the-field problems and spent two years in the CFL before coming back to Washington in 2004. Sellers made his first Pro Bowl last season.

Sellers apologized Saturday for throwing the American flag to the ground during lineup introductions before an exhibition game against the New England Patriots. ``I meant no disrespect,'' he said.||||||| Sellers said he acted in the ``heat of the moment'' Friday night. He said he's aware of proper conduct when it comes to the flag and should have known better, having grown up in an Army family.

Sellers rushed five fives times for 24 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.||||||| Without Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El, the Redskins needed someone to step up offensively and Sellers did that, having one of the best games of his career. He had touched the ball nine times all season, and never more than five times in a game.
